Paper Trail Blog Hop

It's August and that means a new Close to My Heart idea book and a bit of variety on the Paper Trail. If you've arrived here from Amy's blog you're on the right track. If this is your first stop, don't worry. This hop is circular!

Even though we still have a month of summer vacation left in our part of the country, the new Scholastic paper pack has me thinking about school. I created a couple of cards using this paper and patterns from the new Make it from your Heart book!

The library pocket paper seemed perfect for a bookmark!

I like the combination bold patterns and more muted ones in this pack. A few embellishments round out simple cards.

The bold book pattern made this card a snap. The library pocket pattern was a fun place for a sentiment from the July stamp of the month.

The bold letter and number pattern contrasts with other patterns in this simple card.

I really enjoyed creating with the new Make it from Your Heart book! The patterns are easy to follow. The cutting guides are clear. There is artwork for each pattern - sometimes two different examples. I like seeing more than one way of using the patterns. I also really like that this book includes double page layouts, single page layouts and cards in one place!

Thanks for stopping by. Please continue on to Karen's blog to see what she has created this month. I hope you'll stop back soon!

The final post in which I share layouts I created over a month ago

And finally we have it. The last installment of the May layouts. This one page layout came together very quickly at the Crop N Time event in May.
The ledger paper, the wood grain and the red plaid were new purchases that day. Would you ever guess that they were from a Christmas pack? Paired with the blue pattern from Elemental, they seemed to fit with my son's trip over the top of the couch.

These are the moments I never thought I would document. Still, what is a scrapbooker to do?

The ribbon was a lucky break I received in my goodie bag at the crop! Just like that, the layout came together.

Check back soon to see some more up to date creations.

A continutation of the post in which I shared layouts I created over a month ago

Here's another layout I created back in May. I used the Stella paper packet to document a sweet tradition - our bunny cake at Easter.

I used the complements canvas shapes that coordinate with the Stella papers for my title and embellishments. I really can't get enough of that canvas texture.

I created my own journaling spot using stamps - a bracket at the top and bottom and lines in between. I love doing this because my stories often take more space than purchased journaling spots give. Besides, I really like that the paper is a perfect match!

Believe it or not, this is not the last of my May layouts. Check back soon to see what else I have been up to!

In which I post layouts I created over a month ago

Layouts from May? Really? Yup. That is how old some of these are. So what did I create back in May?

This layout is a blast from the past - my first classroom when my mom and aunt (both former teachers) visited.

I used CTMH's Typset paper pack. I love these papers - especially the grid - perfect for journaling.

I also used the Complements Canvas Shapes.
Love the texture of the canvas and they coordinated perfectly with my papers and my theme!

I used the milepost shapes, black tape and metal elements to keep with the theme and embellish. I love the way the arrows focus your attention.

Check back soon to see what else I was up to in May. Who knows, next week I may move on to June!
