Confessions and Dreams

Confession time: I create pages about myself. Quite a few of them really. Most of them aren't event pages. They're pages where I try to explore for myself and share with others something about this person who is me. I even take pictures of myself periodically so that I have photos ready when I want to do a layout like this.

"Dreams" is a perfect example of such a layout. I'm starting many new endeavors related to scrapbooking recently: I started this blog, I was selected for the Paper Thrills design team and I became a Close to My Heart consultant. I have been pondering all these different but related developments and trying to figure out how they fit into my already busy life. What I really want, I am becoming aware, is to teach scrapbooking. This realization lead to this layout:

I used the May 15 sketch from Once Upon a...Sketch.

Let me just say again that I love this particular challenge blog because the journaling is part of the challenge every time. This time the challenge was to use typed journaling. I have easy access to a computer, but getting to a printer requires a bit more effort. Because of this, I tend to shy away from computer journaling, even though I always like it when I see it on layouts. I loved the way it worked here. I had lots to say about my dream of teaching scrapbooking. Since I typed my journaling strips, I didn't have to pare down my words or use hidden journaling; it all fit!

Notice the photos? Remember I said I plan ahead so that I have pictures of myself when I want to do a layout like this? These two photos are some I took on my birthday last year. I printed lots of the ones I didn't hate so that I can use them on multiple layouts.

There it is my confession and a dream. Do you have any scrapbook confessions? Any scrapbook dreams right now?

  3. This is gorgeous. I hope the printing wasnt TOO annoying in the end..LOL! Glad you got it done because its gorgeous. So interesting to hear a bit more about you...yes, i have also discovered MANY MANY different endeavours since starting to scrap. Its a lovely feeling isnt it? To discover a whole new world...interesting people, with common passions and ideas.

I guess my crafting confession right now is to stay just as I am ...where I am. Does that make sense? I am so thrilled with the opportunities I have had so far...but I am also starting to see that it is indeed time consuming and creating at such a speed and volume can be tedious. So status quo for me!!

THANKS for playing along at Once Upon A..Sketch

  6. The colour is beautiful as is the paper. I love the touch of green that you added - so pretty. I hope that your scrappy dreams can come true! As for me, my confession is that I'm so anal about things lining up yet I still can't seem to do it well! So, I've been trying to let go of that a bit more. :) As for scrappy dreams, I just want to keep scrapping as much as I have been and keep enjoying myself. When I go home, I think I'll become a CTMH consultant - I love their products - and I hope to join or spearhead a great scrappy group in the community we end up living in.
